TfL curtails bus route 47 to ease Tower Bridge congestion

From 5am on Monday 10 October bus route 47 – which usually links Bellingham with Liverpool Street via London Bridge – will turn round at Dockhead where Jamaica Road meets Tooley Street.

The first stop for eastbound buses will be stop S on Tooley Street, just to the east of the Tower Bridge Road junction.

A three-month closure of Tower Bridge to motor traffic began last weekend.

Earlier this week a TfL official told a community council meeting that "the congestion has not been as bad as we initially thought".
