Home-Start Southwark volunteers

Home-Start Southwark

About this role

Home-Start Southwark volunteers visit families with young children to provide emotional and practical support, and help them cope with the challenges they face. We believe that supporting parents during the early years of a child's life lays a vital emotional and social foundation for the child, building happier, healthier lives and helping them achieve their full potential. Usually a volunteer will visit a family for 2-3 hours per week for a six month period, enabling them to achieve their own goals such as reducing isolation or improving parenting skills.

Who are we looking for?

Anyone who has been a parent or carer for children under 5 is welcome to volunteer with us. We offer free training to all our volunteers and the next 8 day training course starts on Wednesday, 20th September.
