Inspiring, uplifting music and carol-singing, including audience participation and traditional grand finale 'The Twelve days of Christmas'.
Musical highlights will include Vaughan-Williams' 'Fantasia on Christmas Carols', which uses the full forces of the Society: Choir and Orchestra, as well as the magnificent Cathedral Organ. The organ, played by the Cathedral organ scholar Jonathan Hope, will also be heard in the Finale of Saint-Saens wonderful Organ Symphony. Corelli's beautiful Christmas Concerto will feature two of the society's accomplished violinists as soloists and there will be shorter pieces by Barber, Berlioz, and Poulenc.
The conductor is Clare Clements.
The Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Music Society is a non-auditioning choir and orchestra based at Guy's Hospital, London Bridge consisting of students and staff at King's College London, and Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Hospitals.
