As part of L&Q's 50th anniversary programme, several community days will be held across the capital this summer. The community days are part of L&Q's mission to create places where people want to live, aiming to further strengthen local neighbourhoods and encourage people to come together.
There will be seven separate events covering the various regions where L&Q works. Each event will have a specific theme, from 'Fitness and health' to 'Summer Specials', and will be open to residents and members of the local community.
Matthew Corbett, L&Q's Head of Community Investment, said:
"Our mission is to create places where people want to live and we know that this takes more than building homes. It is important to invest in and strengthen the communities we work in and provide events that bring people from all walks of life together.
"The community days are a great opportunity for residents, L&Q staff and local stakeholders to socialise, reminisce about the past 50 years and talk about their hopes and wishes for the future."
The community days are funded by the L&Q Foundation, a £100m community investment fund which was set up to improve people's chances in life by creating opportunities and developing innovative projects which tackle disadvantage and social inequality.
L&Q residents are also invited to apply for grants from the Foundation of up to £1,000 to host their own community events between now and the end of the year.
