The Feast of St Olav celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Norwegian Church overseas and the 1000th anniversary of the rescue of London by St Olav.
To save London from the Danish attacks and to secure the claim on the crown by Ethelred the Unready, Olav pulled down London Bridge and so saved the city.
He went from London to Rouen in Normandy where he was baptised in the cathedral.
Southwark Cathedral is linked with Rouen Cathedral and Bergen Cathedral and the three cathedrals will join together in a celebration of St Olav in Rouen in the autumn.
This event with members of the Norwegian community in London marks the beginnings of Southwark's celebrations.
