Shakespeare's Globe will celebrate Shakespeare's Birthday with its annual day of free family events, throwing open its doors for a Hamlet-themed day of celebrations on Bankside.
This year's activities will include an Elsinore bouncy castle, sword-fighting demonstrations, skull coconut shies and a grave-digging ball pool.
Actors who have taken on the role of Hamlet through the ages will be on the Globe stage attempting to deliver the quickest reading of the play ever, and famous film adaptations of the play will be shown around the site, including Laurence Olivier's (1948), Mel Gibson's (1990) and Kenneth Branagh's (1996) take on the Prince of Denmark. Admission to films £5.
