St George the Martyr Church launches its new contemporary recital series celebrating living composers and the music of today.
The inaugural concert by Clare Simmonds (piano) opens with Tom Armstrong's mysterious 'Capriccio'.
The concert includes the world premiere of six hypnotic lullabies by Colin Riley, and ends with the fizzy 'Furniture' by Graham Fitkin.
But the highlight is eight works composed specially for the occasion, demonstrating the great imaginative range of today's composers.
