Lambeth Palace is the London home and office of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
It's high summer: the Plumbago, Morning Glory and Oleander are splendid; the espaliered pears are abundant and the 500-year-old fig tree is full of fruit.
Entry is £5 for adults for the benefit of a local charity, which this month is the Children's Air Ambulance. BBQ and other refreshments will be available. There is no need to book.
The Great Hall is also open, and Friends of Lambeth Palace Library are admitted free, as are children. Friendly dogs on leads are very welcome.
