Carnival procession organised by Mandinga Arts and featuring the kids of Johanna Primary School among others.
The Carnival procession will make its way to Lower Marsh and the Millennium Green, helped along the way by a Brazilian marching Samba band.
Moving the event to lunchtime and linking it with an expanded Lower Marsh Market with bars, food with fresh tropical smoothies and cocktails as well as the excellent local shops gives residents, businesses and office workers in and around Waterloo a chance to come together and enjoy the festivities.
The fun starts at 10am with extended stalls at Lower Marsh market with the main entertainment and activities commencing during lunchtime and going on with a Salsa band until early evening.
The line-up:
10am – 6.30pm: Lower Marsh market plus BBQs and fresh tropical cocktails
A live Salsa band and DJ will be playing Salsa rhythms from around 2.00pm until 6.30pm so you can dance your way down Lower Marsh market.
The market will be open from 10am and will play host to a variety of stalls offering handicrafts, jewellery and from lunchtime mouth-watering BBQ dishes and cooling fresh tropical cocktails.
Local businesses and organisations will also be setting up stalls to demonstrate what Waterloo has to offer.
