A great film becomes the new Young Vic community show.
Following the great success of Tobias and the Angel, the Young Vic opens its second season with another life- affirming community show - Ma vie en rose.
Loosely based on Alain Berliner's 1997 film (winner of the Best Foreign Film at the 1998 Golden Globe Awards), Ma vie en rose tells the story of Ludovic, a little boy who longs to be a little girl.
It's a story of dresses, football and disapproving glances told by a professional company enhanced by a community cast. Ma vie en rose is a bold exploration of childhood and identity that challenges the notion of community - what holds it together and what it is prepared to tolerate.
