BSO: Carols for Community Health Care

Everyone's invited to join staff and students from the Southwark-based British School of Osteopathy (BSO) at a special carol service.

Key performers will include soprano Eileen Dreyer, a member of Winchester Cathedral's Waynfleet Singers Choir and Dina Duisen, a young pianist from Kazakhstan who is currently completing her studies at the Royal Academy of Music.

The BSO is the largest and oldest school of osteopathy in the UK, and a registered charity. From its new clinic building - opened in April 2008 and the largest osteopathy clinical centre in Europe - it offers affordable and accessible osteopathic treatment to the south east London community and beyond, providing approximately 40,000 patient appointments each year. This includes osteopathy for children, expectant mothers, people with sports injuries and people living with HIV/AIDS. The BSO also runs a number of special outreach clinics for people who might not otherwise be able to access treatment, including a weekly clinic for homeless people at the Manna Day Centre at London Bridge. Earlier this year the BSO won a Southwark Civic Award for its outreach work.

At the end of the service there will be a collection in aid of the BSO, followed by refreshments.
