Beating the Bounds of Tabard Estate Exhibition

Artist Ana Laura Lopez de la Torre's exploration of the Tabard Gardens Estate, SE1 culminates with an exhibition.

During the winter months and as part of her work as the current holder of Southwark's Studio Residence, Ana Laura has been walking, talking, listening, drawing and recording with residents of Tabard Gardens Estate of all ages, gathering memories and anecdotes, stories of the past and visions of the future.

At Balin House Projects Ana Laura Lopez de La Torre will be showing new work created from the documentation of her time on the estate.

The project was commissioned by Balin House Projects, an independent art space based in a flat in the estate run by Eduardo Padilha.

This Lottery-funded project has been developed in collaboration with Tabard North Tenants and Residents Association, and continues Ana Laura exploration into night time activity in the borough as well as themes of personal and communal territories.
