Everyone is invited to A Concert for Winter, which is Shakespeare's Globe's annual celebration of the Southwark community through song and music.
School and community groups have been invited to perform songs and music on the Globe stage. The schools taking part are St. Jude’s CE Primary School, Goose Green Primary School, St James School on behalf of Bemondsey Clan, St Thomas the Apostle College, Lyndhurst Primary School, Dulwich Wood Nursery School and Children’s Centre, Dog Kennel Hill Primary School and Harris Academy East Dulwich.
This will be the first performance on the Globe Stage for the second Southwark Youth Theatre at Shakespeare’s Globe. This group of 11-18 year olds started their weekly theatre company in September and have been working on developing performance skills specific to the Globe stage.
Other school groups include the G& T Company which is a selection of students involved in the borough’s Gifted & Talented scheme who regularly come together as a theatre company at Shakespeare’s Globe and the original Southwark Youth Theatre – a group of 25 8-11 year olds who comprise a Youth Theatre at Shakespeare’s Globe.
Also performing is the Southwark Metropolitan Police Community Choir joined by Brunswick Park Primary School and St Peters C of E School.
