A once-in-a-decade chance to see The Southwark Mysteries by John Constable, directed by Sarah Davey-Hull.

The Day of Judgement... an unconventional Jesus does battle with Satan for the souls of The Goose - a medieval prostitute - her street-wise devotee John Crow, and the wicked people of Southwark through the ages.

Inspired by the medieval mystery plays, this modern drama is rooted in the history of Bankside - London's "outlaw borough" - mixing Bible stories with local folklore and contemporary humour.

The Southwark Mysteries has been performed only once before, to a capacity audience in Shakespeare's Globe and Southwark Cathedral on Easter Sunday, 23 April 2000. Exactly ten years later, this new production features top professional actors, an adult community cast and children from three local schools.
