Second-year students at London South Bank University perform Blood Wedding by Federico Garcia Lorca.
Blood Wedding is set in the 1930s and is the story of a young man and woman in the lead up to their wedding.
On the surface, it is a tragedy as two of the central characters, Leonardo and the Bride, were once in love but were never married; the tragedy of lost love.
In the meantime, Leonardo has married another and the Bride is engaged and about to be married herself. The thought of an ultimate loss of his first love to another man drives Leonardo to initiate the major event of the play, which is the lovers' escape on the Bride's wedding day.
