Young people's charity Catch22 hosts a showcase of young talent with actors, musicians, singers, poets and comedians.

The Expressions event forms a key part of the charity's award winning anti-knife crime programme 'Fear or Fashion?' run by Catch22 Kickstart in South East London and supported by the City Bridge Trust.

The event is open to all members of the community with families welcome. As well as a host of local young talent, the event will also feature short testimonials from those whose lives have been affected by knife crime and advice on how to combat the problem.

Performers include:
Valentina (singer), Zainab (poet), Midus Touch (rappers), Still Essence (singers), Real Drama (drama group), A Dot (comedian), Crazy Harmonice (instrumental), Sloozie (rapper), Infecta (MC).

Keris Dahlkamp, Catch22 Kickstart Project Manager, says: "Knife crime is a problem that has deep roots and is difficult to tackle. The challenge is in addressing, simultaneously, young people's fear of others' knives - that leads young people to carry knives to defend themselves - and the image that carrying a knife is somehow 'cool'. The 'Fear or Fashion?' project tackles both of these problems head on and what's more, we get the whole community involved.

"We're hoping this year's premier anniversary Expressions event will be the biggest yet. We have a larger venue then ever before in the Unicorn Theatre. The night should be great fun and we're hoping that lots of people will come and learn how to help Southwark get rid of knife crime."
