Family gardening session and home composting workshop.
The aim is to help people overcome some of the difficulties associated with gardening in the city by showing them how to use balconies and small outdoor spaces to make their own compost and grow their own produce.
"We promote home composting as part of our campaign for waste prevention and it has a particularly important role to play in urban areas," says David Floud from Veolia.
"There aren't many garden centres and lots of people do not have transport or money to spend on garden products – home composting can be a vital link to getting inner cities growing."
Carole Wright from BOST added: "It will be a great to have a composting workshop take place at a well used community centre. The workshop, apart from demonstrating to local families how accessible food composting can be, is an added bonus for the newly launched Saturday family gardening sessions which take place at the Mint between 1pm and 4pm."
