Based around the elements of food, community, exchange, knowledge, architecture, the event will gather together chefs, medical herbalists, “guerilla scientistsâ€, food historians and story tellers for a series of workshops and demonstrations, all aimed at promoting community spirit through learning and eating.
The Food Exchange will also play host to the official launch of the Nomadic Allotments project. Built by Cardiff University students, the allotments are required to be versatile, economical, lightweight and portable and will incorporate reclaimed and recycled market materials such as pallets and packaging. The legacy of the project will be an invaluable new community resource offering rare growing space in central London.
The day will be broken down into two sessions – the first will be reserved for the local community, while the second (3pm-6pm) will be open to everybody.
