Fireworks

Every year tens of thousands of people thrill to the sights and sounds of the extraordinary mid-river fireworks display that marks the end of the Thames Festival. In 2006, the display will be designed by one of Britain's most inventive pyrotechnic companies, Walk the Plank.

The fireworks are scheduled to fire from a barge positioned mid-stream in the River Thames between Waterloo and Blackfriars Bridges at 9.45pm on Sunday 17 September. The display is scheduled to be finished by 10pm.

There is good viewing for the fireworks display on the south bank riverside walkway (although a small area in front of the Oxo Tower will be closed to pedestrians). There is also good viewing on Waterloo Bridge and Victoria Embankment. Please note that there are ongoing building works on Blackfrairs Bridge and these will have some effect on sightlines.
