The owners of County Hall have won a high court battle to evict Charles Saatchi's art collection. A judge upheld the Shirayama Shokusan's claim that the gallery had continually breached terms of its lease.
The breaches included putting works in areas for which they had not paid rent and offering a two-for-one ticket deal.
The judge ordered the gallery, which is considering taking the case to the Court of Appeal, to pay damages totalling £9,750 for using rooms and moving works of art into areas not included in its lease.
As of Friday lunchtime the gallery remains open to visitors. "We'd like to see them go within 28 days," said Lionel Rosenblatt, lawyer for landlords Cadogan Leisure Investments, speaking outside the courtroom.
"Ultimately we are thrilled to be leaving and we're looking forward to a happy and exciting time at the Duke of York Building in Chelsea," said a spokesman for the gallery.
