Fundraising Manager

Pembroke House

£34,500 to £40,000 pro rata

1 year contract; 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)

About this role

We are looking for an ambitious and experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser who is interested in helping our South London neighbourhood grow. This is a new role at Pembroke House (28 hours per week, 0.8 FTE) so you will bring your knowledge and enthusiasm to develop and shape it.

About The Role
The charity has grown fairly rapidly and with it our annual fundraising target. Whilst we generate income from our property assets, investments and contracts there remains a sizeable target to be raised from trusts and foundations.

There are varying levels of skills, knowledge and time in the delivery teams to write funding applications. You will need to bring enthusiasm and patience to the role to encourage them to play their part and a willingness to share your skills so that more members of the team feel confident to do so.

You will work closely with the Finance Director and other members of the leadership team to agree priorities for funding and it will be your responsibility to use your experience to develop and manage a strong fundraising pipeline. You will also have direct access to trustees via the sub committee that you'll administer where fundraising is monitored.

About Pembroke House

Pembroke House is an award-winning centre for social action in Walworth, our local neighbourhood in Southwark. We’re striving towards a neighbourhood where everyone who lives and works here can fulfil their potential and experience security and joy. Day-to-day, we deliver activities in our two community buildings centred around community-building and communities working together to tackle the inequalities they face:

• Social Front Door and Walworth Living Room (WLR): an open access “living room” for everyone in our community to connect with each other, eat in our community cafe, access food from our Community Fridge, keep warm, build leadership and participate in activities including knitting circle, collage groups, surplus cooking club, sing-and-jam sessions and more.

• Music programmes for local people.

• Walworth Neighbourhood Food Model: we responded to lockdown by shifting our activity to emergency food distribution and delivering over 40,000 food parcels. We’re building on this with the Neighbourhood Food Model, to create a shared approach to our local food system which can be fairer, healthier, more sustainable. Bringing people together around food to build collaboration and partnership, create good paying jobs, and community-led businesses.
