Layout Sub-Editor

Working across 6 magazines, from receipt of copy through to sending files to the Printer, your day as Layout Sub-Editor involves :

Laying out pages to create eye-catching pages for the print magazines
Sourcing images and Caption Writing
Creating Pull & Block Quotes
Creating Press-ready files for the printers
Subbing copy to meet the Publisher's house style
Designing HTML emails on behalf of commercial advertising partners.

A busy and varied role which offers you plenty of opportunity for creativity and personal development.

Layout Sub-Editor - Candidate Criteria :

A creative flair and experience of laying out pages across print publications.

As well as print media it's also necessary that you have acquired some experience of digital production.

A knowledge of design and desktop publishing tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Illustrator.

Experience of subbing copy so as to meet the publisher's house-style.
