About this role

The Coordinator's Role
The Coordinator will have 3 main goals;
• To coordinate all activities of the Bankside Residents' Forum.
• To inform, involve and empower local residents with regard to the ongoing development of the Bankside area.
• To track major regeneration changes in the area and convene discussions with public and private organisations to ensure a good quality of life for people living in the area.

Remuneration: This is a part-time post of 3 / 4 days per week. You will be working alongside a small Management Committee. Salary range is £26K to £32K per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Person description

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential:
• Understanding of urban regeneration issues and community politics.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to work without supervision but in close consultation with the Management Committee.
• Excellent administrative skills – experience using Word/Excel.
• Commitment to the aims of the Bankside Residents' Forum.

Desirable:
• Knowledge of the Bankside area.
Familiarity with the planning system.
• Understanding of workings of Local Government.
• Experience of working with volunteers and a wide range of public and private organisations.

About Bankside Residents' Forum

BRF was founded in 1995 by local residents concerned about the impact of unrestricted development on Bankside. Twelve years on, the Forum continues to be run by and for all residents in the area and still retains its original ethos.
BRF aims to represent local people in the development process and to inform people about changes in the Bankside area. It works to improve the quality of life of everyone in Bankside.
