Engagement Manager

Lambeth Community-Police Consultative Group has been the forum for engagement of Lambeth's diverse communities with the police and other public bodies for over 25 years.

Our aim is simple – to give anyone who lives, works or studies in Lambeth their Shout in making Lambeth a safer, fairer borough. Have you the skills, experience and drive to help us do just that? We are seeking to appoint one or more individuals to meet our administrative needs.

The role is threefold:

• to provide first rate administration for our membership and board (including financial management and the organisation of our monthly public meetings and other events);

• to further develop our networks within the community and to be responsive to the views of our diverse community, including individuals who seek advice on personal complaints about local policing;

• to represent CPCG in meetings with statutory and other voluntary organisations.

We recognise that it may be hard to find this range of skills in one individual. So we shall be flexible in the appointment, which may be of one full-time person or two part-time people with complementary skills and experience.

We will also consider applications from self-employed people who want to add part of this role to their portfolio.

Lambeth CPCG is community led organisation funded by the Metropolitan Police Authority. Our level of funding beyond 2010/11 is uncertain and so this shall be an appointment for one year, in the first instance.

Salary (or equivalent renumeration for self-employed) is £29,000 pa (pro-rata for part-time).

Ability to maintain confidentiality is crucial and the post is subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.
