About this role

The post holder will be based in Bermondsey, their responsibilities will include:
• Provision of a high quality befriending service for elderly Irish people which is relevant to each client and culturally specific
• Ensuring that volunteers are equipped with relevant training and/or expertise and to provide them with appropriate support
• Developing and maintaining an effective monitoring and evaluation system
• Provision of line management for up to 2 part time community workers

Person description

The post holder will
• Possess excellent organisational and communication skills
• Have experience/knowledge of issues facing elderly Irish people living in an inner city
• Have experience of successful project development
• Be self motivated
• Have excellent team working skills

About Southwark Irish Pensioners Project

Southwark Irish Pensioners Project (SIPP)is a registered charity working in the voluntary sector. The Project was set up in 1994 to reduce the isolation of elderly Irish people living in Southwark and surrounding areas.
We are a small but effective team of workers and volunteers providing day and community services to over 400 clients.
The Volunteer Befriender Organiser Post is integral to our community based services by recruiting and supporting volunteers to provide friendship to our most isolated clients.
