Sessional Community Gardeners

Bankside Open Spaces Trust

About this role

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is looking for a bank of sessional workers to run our gardening groups on various days (including weekends) in SE1. You will be working in local parks and open spaces. After an induction period you would be the main leader for this group, under regular guidance from your manager. BOST will fund further training if required for specific projects.

You will be an enthusiastic, outgoing, sympathetic and patient individual. Diversity training, experience working with people with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and from other backgrounds is desirable but not essential. Some First Aid training would also help.

You should have some knowledge of gardening, basic construction, and the ability to collect monitoring information, and be confident in a leading role. It would be great if you had experience in leading volunteer groups. Further training in Health and Safety and group leadership will be provided.

BOST would prefer to employ a resident of the local area.

Pay:
£12 per hour if leading a group
£10 per hour if assisting BOST staff.
