Sessional/Part Time
Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) is a small friendly charity based in SE1. We are looking to appoint a small number of part-time sessional workers to help deliver a programme of sport and play activities at the Marlborough Sports Garden on Union Street between May and September. Employment will be on a self-employed basis and as such you will be responsible for paying your own tax and N.I. contributions.
Our aim is to encourage young people to participate in a wide range of play and sporting activities in an environment that is a safe, friendly and welcoming. It will be the role of the Marlborough Sports Garden Attendant to help make this happen.
The Sports Garden Attendants will help deliver a programme of sport and play activities at after-school sessions and also during the holiday periods.
Key tasks will include:
Ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and young people using the Marlborough
Supporting a range of play and sports activities
Putting out sports and play equipment, making sure that it is being used appropriately and putting it away at the end of each session
Carrying out general caretaking duties including litter picking, raking sand and making sure the site is clean, tidy and safe at all times.
We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, flexible and enjoy working with children. Ideally you should have some previous experience in this area,
either in a paid or voluntary capacity. Hours are flexible to suit the requirements of the post but will involve after school sessions from 3.00 to 6.00 pm, school holidays and possibly weekends.
