10 weeks, for 16 hours a week, at £12 per hour. Flexible hours of work.

About this role

We are looking for someone to take forward coordinating our volunteers who generously offer their time to help their local community. Duties will include:
- developing volunteering policies and procedures
- contacting prospective volunteers who have offered their time and skills and finding out their availability
-linking with local groups, including Friends of parks and open spaces in Camberwell, Camberwell Arts, Tenants and Residents’ Associations to promote our volunteers to them
- supporting the SE5 Forum Board members to develop initiatives in their areas of specialism (transport, business, community safety etc.) which require volunteer support. This will include managing the rota of people willing to help with our weekly Farmers’ Market stall on Camberwell Green
-developing a role description for a permanent Volunteer Coordinator to continue running SE5’s volunteering programme (note: although this temporary role is funded, the ongoing Volunteer Coordinator role will be voluntary unless further funding becomes available)
-handing over to the permanent Volunteer Coordinator appointed
-presenting an evaluation report to our funder, the Lambeth Forum Network.

Person description

- Self-employed person, able to work independently.
- Experience of working with volunteers and ideally of developing volunteer policies.
- Self-motivated, well organised
- Excellent communication skills for telephone and face to face meetings.
- Excellent written skills
- Experience of Excel
- Knowledge of the Camberwell area would be desirable

About SE5 Forum for Camberwell

The SE5 Forum for Camberwell is a grassroots, non-political, umbrella organisation that exists to promote improvements in Camberwell that benefit all members of our diverse community. The Forum was set up to be the eyes, ears and voice of the community, to see and understand what is happening within the area, to listen to concerns and to raise these with the relevant organisations that can bring about positive change.
