Permanent position
A Project Co-ordinator is being recruited at an exciting time in the development of The Robes Project. The person we seek will have organisational skills and the ability to contribute to an agenda for change.
Robes is a volunteer based charity operating in South London providing night shelters in church venues to the homeless during the winter months.
The role of the Co-ordinator is to supervise the night shelters and develop new ones; to recruit, train and supervise volunteers and to establish and co-ordinate a logistics team to ensure beds and supplies are available to the shelters.
Part of the role will be to ensure good practice and that agreed policies and procedures and Health and Safety requirements are maintained and followed.
Liaising with homeless referral agencies and a willingness to undertake advice work are included in the role as is developing and maintaining partnerships with local businesses and other housing providers.
As we are a small charity, the role offers variety and new opportunities particularly as new projects are being developed. The Co-ordinator will need to show initiative and an understanding of homeless issues and, as this is a Church based project, have genuine empathy with Christian values.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Appointment will be subject to satisfactory completion of a probationary period.
