Gallery Assistant

We are looking for a gallery assistant to work at the Eames Fine Art Gallery and studio as part of the sales team at weekends and Wednesday afternoons / evenings at public and private exhibitions and events.

Initially we are offering 2 full weekends' work each month (11am-6pm on Saturdays and 11am - 5pm on Sundays) and moving to 3/4• weekends in Autumn (1 weekend off each month).

In addition to the weekends we are looking for the applicant to work Wednesdays from 1pm until 9pm where they'll be assisting with the preparation for openings of exhibitions and art special events and then working at the events handling art sales.

We are looking for someone who has a proven interest in fine art, preferably in original prints.
The applicant should also have experience in sales and retail.

We are looking for someone who is confident and enthusiastic, good at communicating and happy to engage with the public in discussions about art and design.

The applicant should be passionate and eager to learn more about art and the work we represent.

We need someone responsible and dependable and keen to join a friendly, hard-working, dedicated team.

Eames Fine Art is a commercial gallery based on Bermondsey Street, we host a fast changing programme of exhibitions and sales of original prints by Modern and contemporary artists. We also run an Art Collectors' Studio on Tanner Street where we host private events for clients such as artist talks, discussions, previews, open studios and printmaking demonstrations.
