About this role

For over 400 years Southwark Charities has been supporting the poor and elderly of Southwark, primarily through the provision of secure, sheltered, long-term residential accommodation in our two Almshouses.

In addition we pay annual pensions to a group of 200 elderly people in the Borough. We are now seeking to recruit a Welfare Officer. The main purpose of this role is to provide a programme of events, activities, outings and holidays to support the health and wellbeing of the residents and pensioners. You will also manage admissions, and liaison with other carers/social services/charities providing services to older people in the area.

This is a permanent part-time role working 3 days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday). Salary will be £20,022 plus access to a contributory Pension Scheme upon satisfactory completion of the probation period.

The role is based at our offices in Blackfriars.
