About this role

Salary £2,000 - £2,500 for the 3 months (Equivalent to £20K - 25K pa fulltime) - (depending on experience) .

It might be possible to consider a job share between one very experienced IT worker and a support worker with relevant skills but less experience.

Major tasks – to help older and other vulnerable Lambeth residents to improve their use of computers, tablets, and smart phones. This is important for full participation in a more computerised world. It is URGENT as there may be a further need for isolation in the autumn/ winter.

It to advise WAC on the development of a computer room for public use.
to assist WAC staff, volunteers and tutors in the use of new technology to help vulnerable people. For example some of our tutors are arranging Zoom sessions and the advice worker is needing to help clients over the phone to use their home IT to make benefit claims.

Based at Waterloo Action Centre

Person description

Requirements for post
Essential - Knowledge of IT technology as required by above tasks
Experience of helping others learn uses of computers/ smart phones/ tablets
Experience of working with older people/ people with disabilities. Can be acquired in a family or neighbourly setting.
Commitment to WAC’s core values (see website)
Ability to start within a few days of being offered the post.

Highly Desirable - be able to travel to WAC without needing public transport
