Drawing Room is seeking maternity cover for the Engagement Curator. The position is funded by the Bridget Riley Art Foundation to lead our ground-breaking programme which aims to make both the practice of drawing and the appreciation of drawings accessible to a diverse audience. We are looking for someone who is passionate about contemporary drawing practice and its broad and valuable applications, in educational settings and with local communities.
A major part of the role will be implementing ROCK PAPER SCISSORS, an ambitious three-year programme funded by Freelands Foundation, engaging children, teachers and families through artist-led projects, invigorating drawing within primary education and making positive change within our local community.
We are looking for a thoughtful and highly proficient person for this multifaceted role.
Candidates must be confident with a range of responsibilities which span working face-to-face with public audiences, selecting and supporting artists, building relationships with stakeholders and partnering organisations, undertaking self–led research and shaping proposals, as well as managing the operational logistics of projects from start to finish.
We particularly encourage applications from people of colour and candidates that are currently underrepresented within the creative industries.
