Permanent, full-time
Overview
We want to make a step change impact on major health issues affecting people in the London boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark. In the process, we aim to learn about what works to enable support health in urban and diverse communities, and use those lessons to have impact nationally and beyond.
We do this in a variety of ways: we raise money and fund innovative projects for Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust; our Impact on Urban Health branch tackles complex health issues that disproportionately impact people living in urban areas; and to help us achieve this, we responsibly manage and invest our endowment and other assets worth c. £900m.
We are looking for a Receptionist/Administrator to join our Resources team. This role is the first point of contact for visitors to the Charity and leads on ensuring the office environment is a welcoming and comfortable place for visitors and staff. The role also provides a wider administration service for the organisation as a whole.
The Receptionist/Administrator will be joining the Charity at a uniquely exciting time – we will shortly be moving to new offices, and the post holder will assist with this transition. They will be working with the Office Manager on the logistics of the move itself, and will have input in shaping the day to day running of our new office space, as well as continuing to support the wider staff team with hybrid working.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual to join a growing organisation with an energetic team in an interesting and varied position and make the role your own. This role works across the organisation and with every team, so you will learn about all aspects of the organisation and the sector we work in.
As a place based organisation, we are particularly interested in applications from people who live in Lambeth and Southwark.
Due to government restrictions, the post holder will initially be working virtually, however, once the office opens up for staff and visitors, they will be office based.

We are one of the UK’s largest charitable foundations. For over 500 years we’ve been based in and focused on improving people’s health in Lambeth and Southwark, two vibrant inner-city areas with urban health challenges.
We work with a range of partners – both within and outside of Lambeth and Southwark – to identify, test and scale new approaches to health and healthcare. We take a programmatic approach, identifying the biggest health issues for people in our communities, understanding what’s underneath these issues, and working with others to address them. We collaborate with anyone who has the very best approaches and shares our drive to make them happen. Whenever possible, we fund jointly with others.
Through a combination of fundraising and our own philanthropic support, we also help Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust provide exceptional care and a world-class environment for patients and staff at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Evelina Children’s Hospital, as well as in community health services across the boroughs.
