About this role

Duties include:
• Opening up the Rainbow Community Room, welcoming and greeting groups and leaving the building secure
• Setting up and putting away tables and chairs for groups
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the Rainbow Room, kitchen and toilets to an excellent standard

Essential Requirements:
• To live locally and ideally 10 minutes of St Hugh’s Church (on the corner of Crosby Row & Porlock Street SE1 3PT)
• To be flexible and willing to work some unsocial hours
• Friendly and welcoming people skills
• Ability to use own initiative and work independently
• To be physically able to sweep, hoover, mop and clean surfaces

Person description

a) The Premises Manager will live within quick and easy reach of the Church
b) S/he will have a welcoming personality and be able to relate to a wide range of people within the Church and local community
c) S/he will have good local knowledge that will help to develop relationships between Church and community
d) S/he will be able to keep the premises looking clean and attractive
e) S/he will be willing to work flexibly in response to a developing pattern of bookings and premises use

About St Hughs PCC

St Hughs Church is part of the parish of Southwark Cathedral but operates as the Anglican parish church of West Bermondsey. Like all Anglican churches, it seeks to serve the entire community. The church and community facilities at St Hughs provide an exciting opportunity to fulfil that role. The Premises Manager is a key figure in enabling the development of good relationships between the Church and the local neighbourhood.
