About this role

We have an exciting opportunity, in partnership with AgeUK and Lambeth Together to host a Wellbeing Ambassador at Oasis Waterloo.
In this role, you would be working with local community members, to build relationships, improve health and wellbeing, and signpost to local services. This role is based in our newly relaunched community space at the Oasis Centre and will include supporting with community drop-ins and walk-ins, as well as 1-2-1 appointments and other broader community events and activities.

Key responsibilities.

Running community sessions and support groups with a focus on health and wellbeing
Providing signposting and referrals to health and wellbeing
Supporting Oasis Hub Waterloo and its existing services on topics of health and wellbeing, including advice drop-ins, Waterloo Foodbank sessions and other community sessions
Assisting at the Lambeth Together Wellbeing
Supporting clients with appointments, including language interpretation (if additional languages are spoken by the successful candidate).
Having conversations about barriers to Covid
The successful post holder must have:

Knowledge of local services and organisations in the Lambeth area
An understanding of how the local community has been affected by Covid19 and its needs moving forwards
The ability to work with people from a broad cross-section of backgrounds at all levels internally and externally
The ability to hold open and friendly dialogues that are respectful of people’s opinions and

About Oasis Hub Waterloo

Building a movement of volunteers, parents, churchgoers and more who work together to radically transform our community.

Our aim is to help to create a local community where people of all ages and situations feel included, know that they can contribute and realise a deep sense of belonging.

Every week the Hub provides outstanding education to hundreds of local children, the Foodbank puts food on the table for struggling families, we support people burdened by debt, create ways for families to grow together and encounter a supportive community, and take disengaged young people and use sport to create young leaders.
