About this role

This is a perfect job for a person who lives locally in SE1 and has the flexibility to work alongside a small friendly dedicated team. This is a permanent half-time post.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the building with our external contractors and volunteers, and for developing the business and bookings to serve the community and support the life of the parish.

Duties include:
• Managing bookings & invoicing and developing opportunities to hire the space
• Letting groups into and out of the building, welcoming and greeting groups
• Setting up and putting away tables and chairs for groups
• Ensuring with our professional cleaners that the space is clean and maintained
• Managing the staff & volunteers rota and helping with occasional church administration

Person description

Essential Requirements:
• To live locally and ideally 10 minutes of St Hugh’s Church (on the corner of Crosby Row & Porlock Street SE1 3PT)
• To have strong administrative and computer skills
• To have a professional demeanour and be able to liaise with contractors
• To be flexible and willing to work some unsocial hours
• Friendly and welcoming people skills
• Ability to use own initiative and work independently
