Southwark's Anglican Cathedral will be receiving three grants totalling £118,000 from English Heritage and the Wolfson Foundation to make essential repairs to the tower roof, to install roof ladders and to restore the south transept roof.
Local charity Charterhouse-in-Southwark, which has been active in the borough since 1885, has announced plans to become a funding body rather than a direct provider of community services.
