First chance to see inside Lambeth Palace

From this month there is an opportunity to visit Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The millennium opening is being organised as part of the String of Pearls initiative.

Visitors will be taken on a guided tour of the palace including the Crypt, the Guard Room, the Chapel and the Library. There will also be a marquee in the palace gardens with an exhibition exploring the role of the Archbishop of Canterbury today.

Admission is by timed ticket and guided tour only, Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4.30pm. Tours continue until 4 November, but the palace will be closed for Easter 16-24 April. Tickets cost £6 (concessions £4)
