Friends of Archbishop's Park formed
July 2000
SE1's largest green space now has its own user group. A public meeting last month led to the formation of the Friends of Archbishop's Park.
A 12-strong committee chaired by local resident Sarah O'Connell was elected by the meeting, which was attended by more than 50 people. Concern was expressed about South Bank Employers' Group's plans for covered tennis courts in the park. Members were also disappointed by the new Millennium Path which reduces the areas of grass in the park.
