Railway arches to be brightened

New street lighting and uplighting is planned for the railway arches in Union and Great Suffolk Streets which form the Station to Tate link. New paving now guides pedestrians from Southwark Station into Sumner Street. The brick Arch 401 by the Union Theatre in Union Street is likely to be the first to include a lightwork, highlighting the arch number, by Ron Haselden. The figures 401 are planned for the south side to be visible from the café entrance to the theatre.
