29 pilgrims & 29 tales for Tate's Borough Broadcast
This year's Tate Bankside Annual Event on Saturday 11 September will be a celebration of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Taking inspiration from the fictional starting point of Chaucer's pilgrims at the Tabard Inn off Borough High Street, the Tate Gallery of Modern Art is inviting 29 modern-day pilgrims to spend 24 hours making their own personal pilgrimage to a destination of their choice.Back in Borough Market - with a live audience - video and audio footage of the pilgrims will be mixed and broadcast live on the World Wide Web. Broadcast is part of the Tate's pre-opening programme.
