Tate Modern continues to break records

AN AVERAGE of 18,000 vistors are now passing through Tate Modern on Bankside every day. Figures indicate that the total was higher at weekends and during half term holiday week last month. The visitor total passed the 3 million mark late in October. There is speculation that another million could visit by 31 December. Postcard sales have reached 1.5 million.

Spanish artist Juan Munoz is to undertake the second in the Unilever series of commissions for the Turbine Hall. His 500 foot long and 100 foot high installation, replacing the towers by Louise Bourgeois, will open in June next year.
