O2's beach may not be coming to Potters Fields, but American Express is bringing some of the excitement of Wimbledon to the riverside park between Tower Bridge and City Hall.
The Evening of Aces – a pro-celebrity tennis night on Wednesday 30 June – will feature the likes of Lady Isabella Hervey playing alongside Pat Cash and Monica Seles to raise money for Sport Relief – a sporting charity set up to tackle poverty and disadvantage in both the UK and around the world.
Free tickets will be available from a booth on the riverside between Tower Bridge and City Hall from Saturday 26 June to Wednesday 30 June between 11am and 7pm. Maximum four tickets per person. Tickets are limited on a first come first served basis.
Multi Grammy award-winning international soul and R&B star Alicia Keys will be performing live at Potters Fields on Thursday 1 July at 5pm. Tickets were made available via a voucher in Thursday's Evening Standard.
The main attraction will be the giant screens showing live matches from Wimbledon for the last four days of the tournament, Thursday to Sunday from 11am. There will also be hands-on tennis action for the whole family with skills challenges, instruction and other activities.
And it wouldn't be Wimbledon without strawberries & cream, champagne and other favourites.
