Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded a maximum three stars for the third year running in the latest performance ratings published by the Healthcare Commission.
The SE1 hospitals achieved all nine of its key targets and is in the top band of trusts nationally for its performance in the areas of ‘clinical focus' and ‘capacity and capability'.
The Trust met the key target for last March to have at least 94% of patients, waiting in the accident and emergency department at St Thomas', seen, treated, admitted or discharged within four hours.
In addition, 99.1% of A&E patients who doctors decided needed a hospital bed were admitted within four hours of this decision.
The Trust also ensured that all patients with suspected cancer referred urgently by their GP were seen by a hospital specialist within two weeks.
