A bus driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the death of cyclist Vicki McCreery on Blackfriars Bridge last May.
The 37-year-old victim was a senior physiotherapist at St Thomas' Hospital. She was on her way home to the City at about 5.30pm when she was involved in the accident. The bridge was closed in both directions for several hours and there has been huge concern expressed about cyclists' safety on the bridge.
Since the death of Vicki McCreery on Monday 10 May the bus lane has been removed and the cycle lane changed. The bridge carries 54,000 vehicles every weekday.
Bus driver Michael Duncan is due to appear at Southwark Crown Court in September.
