Steve Hollingshead’s London Wall at City Hall

Leigh Hatts

SE1-based photographer Steve Hollingshead is launching his London Wall Project at City Hall with an exhibition of more than 300 small black and white prints displayed as a wall.

It represents the spirit, energy and diversity of the capital in a deliberately upbeat celebration of London life.

Steve has needed enormous organisation, energy and patience to capture so many multi-cultural festivals, traditional ceremonies and demonstrations. Some of these events take place without huge crowds or any promotion but they are part of the rich living in London experience.

The Wall has some surprise SE1 bricks which reveal delightful corners and diverse events such as Daniel Deronda's film crew on Bankside and a Latin American procession at the Elephant & Castle. There is also a view into a Thames barge from the Millennium Bridge. This growing wall should not be missed.
