Understanding planning in Southwark training offer

London SE1 website team

An opportunity to have a say in the future of your area and to learn more about how to influence development is being offered to those living in some Southwark neighbourhoods.

The Community Training Programme, organised by the Willowbrook Centre, is designed to increase knowledge of the planning system and help to make input effective.

There are thirty free places being made available in October to those living in West Bermondsey, East or West Camberwell, Nunhead or East Peckham.

Questions discussed will include:

What's great about where you live, or what would you like to change?

Do you feel safe in your neighbourhood?

What facilities are missing from this area?

What plans do the Council or developers have that will affect people in your area?

The training will be in two sessions of three and a half hours each in a local venue on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 October or Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 October. Each session runs from 5-9pm. There will also be an opportunity to join a group that is looking at planning issues in the area on an ongoing basis.

The courses are being sponsored by Planning Aid for London, Southwark Alliance and the Willowbrook Centre.
