Man shot near Albert Embankment

Police are appealing for witnesses to a shooting near a Lambeth nightclub and a disturbance on the Albert Embankment.

Police were called at 5.33am on Monday to reports of a disturbance in the vicinity of the Supreme Club in Goding Street, SE11.

Officers were were on their way to the club when a suspect was seen to run off down the Albert Embankment.

While he was being detained, a 32-year-old man – who had been shot – made himself known to police. He has been taken to a London hospital and is in a critical condition.

The suspect was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to a south London police station where he remains in custody.

No further arrests have been made.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of the club at the time or who saw the disturbance spill out onto the Albert Embankment, to get in touch.
