The Gateway Training Centre offers one-to-one guidance and support with job searches and computer training. Other services include basic skills tuition and debt management advice.

The centre is run by Tomorrow's People which was the brainchild of a group of directors of Grand Metropolitan PLC (which subsequently merged with Guinness to become Diageo). They identified chronic unemployment as the root cause of much of the inner-city unrest of the 1980s.
